The Opening Ceremony will take place on the first day of the Congress. It will be officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia (TBC) and features an opening act by local cultural troupes and will showcase an array of Sarawakian cultural performances. It will also feature the RCOG Admissions Ceremony and the presentation of awards.
Welcome Reception

Exhibition Area, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching
A Welcome Reception will be held at the conclusion of the first day of the Congress at the Exhibition Area of the convention centre. It will provide the opportunity for delegates to meet with friends and colleagues in an informal setting, with delicious local snacks and drinks with a soothing live Sarawakian music ensemble.
Accompanying Person Programme
1000-1300 hours, Wednesday 6 June 2012 & Thursday, 7 June 2012
A half-day tour is included as part of the Social Programme for the Accompanying Persons during their stay in Kuching. There are more options for the accompanying persons and the delegates, which are listed on the Tour Information
page. Accompanying Persons can choose between the Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and the Kuching City and Shopping Tour . Both tours include lunch.
Charity Gala Dinner

Ballroom, Pullman Kuching Hotel
The Charity Gala Dinner is a formal event to be held at the Pullman Kuching Hotel with western cuisine amidst a rainforest theme. It will feature enticing and colourful fusion dancers. The highlight is a live performance by AkashA, an international instrumental group giving you ethnic fusion music and a famous Malaysian singer. The dinner will provide an opportunity for delegates, guests and friends, to network in a fun filled memorable evening.
Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting a local Sarawakian medical charity and the Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (Orang Utan Sanctuary). (TBC)
